DABUTTONPUSHA'S PROFILE
DaButtonpusha is C.E.O. of Just Pressin’
Buttons Productions, INC an all female
owned and operated HipHop Production
Company in Pittsburgh, PA. She is a single
parent of a 15 year old son and care taker of
our elders during the day. DaButtonpusha
has almost single handed begun to unite the
people in communities in the City of
Pittsburgh with each other and with people
from other communities in cities such as
Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, and OH. She
has encouraged peace and willingness for
people of all ages, genders, preferences and
ethic groups to work together and has
provided the means for them to do so.
Her tool – HIP HOP her motto -
“Come on …Create!” She has (3) TV shows
on Pittsburgh’s Public Access channel,
PCTV 21, a radio show on WNJC 1360 am,
Philly, and a live monthly HipHop venue
called “The HipHop Buffet Series”.

DaButtonpusha contacts, arranges,
and displays Underground HipHop
talent in the city of Pittsburgh to
do this show. Approximately (6)
groups from different neighborhoods
participate in the monthly shooting
of the show. The groups are not
allowed to use any foul language on
the show and they are encouraged
to come out and display their talent
for the city to see. Most of
these groups haven’t been heard
of at all in the city – many get
contacted by other groups interested
in having them perform at other venues because of this show. The fact that this show is rated “G” has allowed the age range of viewers to grow from just young people watching to all ages. This show has began to bridge the gaps in communication between young and old because the elders are now able to interpret some of what the youth are going through in the streets without enduring harsh language or ludiness. Elders appreciate the show because it allows them to help over stand the youth in their language increasing their chances of more positive communication. DaButtonpusha encourages young and old to create and display their talents.

 

 

 

 

 

CULTURE N ME – Airs as PCTV schedule permits
This show allows a more detailed look at some underground artist’s viewpoints. Most of these young people are crying out for help in their music. DaButtonpusha interviews these youth and tackles issues that inspire their music. This allows viewers to overstand, greater, the needs, complaints and views of the youth. The viewer then can have a better overstanding of how to deal with some of the issues effecting the youth. This show creates an environment where youth feel comfortable and are more willing to reason and build. DaButtonpusha asks the tough questions that some of the elders want answered. This show is not edited so the youth feel confident that “their words” are the words that the community hears. Again no foul language is allowed on the show – so the viewer gets a good sense of what these young people are feeling and why.

ROCKIN’ LIVE W/DBP – Airs as PCTV schedule permits
This show is just to display the talents of LIVE BANDS. – It doesn’t matter how young or old – what type of music – if you play in a live band – DaButtonpusha will put you on the show. This is strictly to provoke young people to play real instruments and to keep music in our schools.

 

HIPHOP BUFFET SERIES – Airs as PCTV SCHEDULE PERMITS

The HipHop Buffet Series is a monthly
live venue series. DaButtonpusha assembles
underground HipHop groups from Pittsburgh
and other cities to come out and showcase
their brand of HipHop. What’s unique about
this series is it only allows groups who do not
normally have a stage, but make good music,
to perform for all to see. In the city of Pittsburgh,
Hip Hop, in participatory underground HipHop
is not embraced. DaButtonpusha brings
underground groups in from all over the country
and couples them with Pittsburgh underground
artistand showcases them. This series has bridged
the gaps in the city of Pittsburgh where youth are
dying just because of what neighborhood they live in.
DaButtonpusha finds groups from different
neighborhoods every show – so these hoods must
come out to support. The show never repeats acts in
one series sothe talent being displayed is always
new and fresh. These shows are taped and given
to the artist for their keepsakes, promotions, etc. and
they are also airedon PCTV. These shows have
attracted young and old,male and female, wealthy
and poor, all to the sameplace to have fun with PEACE.
The most recent wasthe All Female Hip Hop Buffet
Series. One of the participates was a 70 year old
Grandmother singing back-up for her granddaughter.
